This study aims to analyze the discourse of the collapse of the tyrannical civilization from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an by examining three Meccan surahs—al-Takāthur, al-ʿAṣr, and al-Humazah—using the Practical Discourse Analysis Method (PDAM). PDAM, as a five-layer analytical model, encompasses the structural, semantic, communicative, discursive, and metadiscursive spaces, thereby providing a framework for an in-depth analysis of religious texts. The findings demonstrate that the Qur’an presents a coherent theory of the collapse of tyrannical civilization across these three surahs: collapse results from a fundamental ideological deviation, namely, the replacement of “competitive accumulation” (*takāthur*) for faith at the center of the value system. This ideological deviation gives rise to corrupt discursive structures in which the humiliation of others, the accumulation of wealth, and the illusion of immortality become normalized. Ultimately, the inevitable consequence of this process is civilizational loss, which originates not from external forces but from within the civilization itself; salvation from this condition is possible only under divine guardianship. Furthermore, the Qur’an continuously sustains this critical discourse against the hegemony of tyrannical civilization through discursive mechanisms. This study demonstrates that the three surahs, taken together, constitute a complete “discursive system” that can be applied to the analysis of contemporary civilizations and serve as a theoretical framework for understanding and critically examining structures of power and wealth in today’s world.
